We are heading to Kelowna on Kristie and Rej’s 5th wedding anniversary. Thank goodness the dogs were barking at 7:45 as we were sound asleep. By the time Keith got the RV ready and car on the dolly, it was 9:15. Saw Kristie and the girls outside and then they waved to us as we left. Stopped for propane in St Norbert and gas on Pembina highway. I walked over to McDonalds for coffee and away we go. Driving through headingly at 10:54. A bit later start than we hoped.

Lots of RCMP in Headingly. There was a Mercedes pulled over with three cop cars surrounding it and then a semi pulled over with numerous cars and RCMP officers surrounding it.

Beautiful day for a drive. Reflecting on Burt Reynolds’ death and how the aging process isn’t kind to some. We surmised that good old Mother Nature’s way of helping us deal with the aging process is to affect our vision!! Last year at this time we were in Newfoundland.

Some trees are already turning fall colours. It’s beautiful but so hard to believe that summer is over. Saw a few cyclists and reminiscing about Keith’s trip. When he went it was only a two lane highway with no shoulder ... so dangerous. Now it’s a four lane highway with a nice shoulder.

Arrived in Brandon at 1:00. Stopping to top up on gas and make a sandwich. Had a turkey sandwich with a fresh garden tomato ... yummy. I’m still coughing and even annoying myself! On the road again at 1:30. Drove by Grand Valley and it was beautiful with the rolling hills and trees with their fall colours.

It’s 2:05 and we are passing Oak Lake. It took dad three days to get here by bike. Saskatchewan does not change their clocks so it’s Standard Time here ... happy to gain an hour. We had an East wind up until just before Regina and now a south wind is blowing us around. Got to Regina just after 4:00 (5:00 your time) and will go to Moose Jaw for the night as it’s only an hour way. Just passed my kind of town ... Drinkwater!!  We were surprised to see the rolling hills coming into Moose Jaw. Staying in the Prairie Oasis Campground just off the highway. It is 5:24 here, 24 degrees and windy ... 33 to 43 km/hr. The campground is $45 per night for full service. Nice concrete level pull through sites and backs onto McDonald’s!! Free Wi-Fi too. πŸ‘

Nice to get out and walk. It’s beautiful here.  Great day #1😊
