It is 8:30 and a beautiful sunny morning. It is 8 degrees and going to 23. As we were leaving the campground there was this little girl surrounded by ducks in her campsite ... it was so cute. There also are a lot of quails running around everywhere. They are hilarious by the way they run. We picked up a coffee at Tim’s and headed toward Naramata. We were quite surprised that there wasn’t really a town with stores there. It is basically wine country. The scenery is beautiful and there are a lot of wineries. We stopped at Bench 1775. We tasted three wines and bought a bottle of the Merlot. Unfortunately their Bistro was closed so we continued on.
We took the scenic route back through the countryside and stopped at Burrowing Owl winery. We didn’t bother with the tasting and sat on their patio for lunch. It was hot in the sun and the scenery beautiful. I had pumpkin risotto and Keith had a grilled peach salad. Both were so delicious. We shared creme brûlée for dessert.
We are surprised by the number of East Indian families who own wineries and fruit stands.
