Wednesday adventures

Enjoyed the hot springs last night ... so relaxing. Came back and had a snack, glass of wine and played crib. Keith won the best of three other night and I won last night.

It rained half of the night but thankfully was not raining this morning while packing up. It’s 10:39 and we are on the road to Kelowna via Golden and Revelstoke. It is 10 degrees. Beautiful drive on this quiet two lane highway. Nice homesteads on the side of the highway, some with cattle. Clouds in the mountains and the sun is poking out. We meet up with highway 1 in Golden.

Arrived in Golden at noon. Gas was $1.49/ltr. Got a coffee at Tim’s and on our way. Lots of tour buses, RVs and semi’s in Golden. Saw our sister RV ... the same people we saw in Banff ... they waved to us. It is 9 degrees and partly sunny. Although it is cooler to travel now, the splashes of colour is beautiful.

We have seen so many CanaDream and CruiseCanads rental RVs in the mountains, along with others.

We changed to MDT at Glacier National Park. Went through Rogers Pass around 12:15. Quite the trek up to Rogers Pass as the elevation is 4,360 ft. There are bits of snow on the mountains here. The temperature is 8 degrees and feels like 5. The clouds are very low in the mountains. Encountering more construction.

Stopped on the side of the highway in revelstoke to have lunch. Made lunch in the RV as it is raining out. Used our generator to boil water for tea. The radio was warning of a possibility of snow in Revelstoke. Stopped at Mara Lake to take a photo.

Arrived in Kelowna at 5:00. It is mostly sunny and 20 degrees. Pulled into Tood’s RV Park at 6:00. Not the most picturesque campground but it’s full service and people are very nice. The scenery across the road is spectacular and the town of Peachland beautiful. There is a huge bocci game of about 20 people taking place on the road ... rowdy and everyone with a drink in their hand.
